    Multidisciplinary consultation is broadcast on live through Internet-based Intelligent Remote Collaboration Platform

    On the afternoon of June 30th, multidisciplinary consultations were held for difficult and complicated gastroenteric tumor cases at our Internet-based Intelligent Hierarchical Diagnosis and Treatment Center. Oncologists, gastroenterologists, radiation therapy specialists and pathologists analyzed medical records of four patients and discussed precision medicine for tumor and improvement of patients’ life quality. What is special this time is that it is the first time consultations haven been aired provincially via a remote collaboration platform.

    Professor Qiu Hong from the Department of Oncology, Tongji Hospital affiliated to Huazhong University of Science and Technology was invited to the discussion. Specialists from Zhumadian Municipal No.1 People’s Hospital, Hebi Municipal People’s Hospital and Huaiyang County People’s hospital joined the discussion. Tens of contracted municipal level and county level hospitals also joined the discussion via HD devices of our Internet-based Intelligent Hierarchical Diagnosis and Treatment Collaboration Platform.

    Grass-roots doctors and nurses were involved in the entire process, which greatly facilitated their professional learning. Before long, more departments, including liver tumor, birth defect, gynecological tumor, lung cancer and neuroendocrinology will broadcast consultations on difficult and complicated cases via the remote collaboration platform in succession, in order to provide more exchange opportunities for grass-roots medical practitioners.
